Life or Death?
Christmas is over and a new year is approaching and as I approach the end of the year 2011 I wonder just how much of a difference this little website has made. For me it has made a world of difference because as I write I motivate me to become a better person, a better man. It also allows me to vent my frustration with a government gone mad.
Our form of government is unique among the nations of the world so for life of me I can't understand why our elected leadership wants to destroy this great nation. Yet I read stories of how one senator wants to destroy the first amendment, taking away free speech rights. I read another where the Congress is considering legislation to censor internet political speech, all in the name of preventing piracy of course. But the end result would be censorship of political speech. Still another story tells of how TSA is expanding it's reach leading us deeper into a police state. All in the name of safety of course.
Today's crop of politicians speak with such elegance and sophistication their words sound like sweet honey on a hot roll. Yet their actions say something completely different. Their actions are those of a poisonous snake ready to strike at, and destroy, anyone who opposes them. They are not afraid of their actions because they know the Benedict Arnold's (formerly known as the main steam media) will protect and defend them. Thus we have a situation where the American people are the enemy and the real threats of the world are allies of our political leaders. And this applies to both sides of the isle.
I cannot remember a time in my lifetime where our elected leaders are at odds with the population, so much so they look at the people with distain and ridicule. Ridicule for those who want accountability from the people we hire to do a job. Simply stated our current crop of elected leaders are at war with the very fundamentals this country was built upon.
But I must lay the real blame where it belongs -- on us. We the voters are ultimately responsible because it is we who sent these people to Washington in the first place. It is we the voters who must shoulder the blame for our current state of affairs. You can say we were fooled with silver-tongued speech but the warning signs were there but we refused to see them, to heed them.
America is not guaranteed to exist. Like Rome, the British Empire, and other nations we too can fall into the pits of despair and anguish. To be known as the former United States of America. Is that the direction you want to take? It is not too late to change our course, to adjust the rudder and steer us away from the rocks of destruction we approach. But we must act and we must act now. So what do we do?
We must take command of our own lives, to leave behind the idea that government can save us, protect us, and nurture us. Such thoughts are destructive to a society as a whole and to each of us individually. While some safety nets are necessary for those that truly need them, they are a means of strangulation for the majority of us. It is only when we assume complete responsibility for our lives and our actions that we can begin to change course and leave the rocks of doom and destruction behind.
Yet politicians cannot allow this to happen as they need to be worshipped and adored by a willing population and to do so they promise the moon but deliver worthless rocks. Politicians know that if you become self-sufficient the jig is up for them, and instead of taking four million dollar vacations, or renting ten thousand dollar a night suites all on the taxpayer dime, they must perform the job we hired them to do. And if they are forced to actually do their job they won't have the time to figure out how to control and manipulate your life.
But it begins with each of us. It begins with a belief in ourselves that we are worthwhile, that we don't need government programs to protect us, that we don't need to worship politicians, that we, as individuals are the power behind the country. Once we hold ourselves accountable for our own actions, then and only then can we hold our elected leaders accountable.
Many of us have already discovered this fact of life and we are trying to do something about it. Hence this website. But if politicians continue the way they are then this website and thousands like it will cease to exist. And when we die, so does the country.
