Conversion

I often wonder what goes on in the minds of politicians. It seems they have lost their mind because the laws they pass make no sense, no sense at all, at least not to real Americans.

Over the New Year’s weekend a Defense spending bill was signed into law. The bill provided funding for the military but it also did something else, something extremely dangerous. This law gives the President the power to arrest and detain anyone he desires to. It allows him to direct the military to arrest and detain, for an unlimited amount of time, and without due process, any individual they desire, all in the name of combating terrorism.

But in reality what the Congress of the United States has done is convert this country from a Republic to a dictatorship. In short Congress authorized the government to treat Americans as enemies of the state. And they did it willingly and without a second thought.

Just think you, an individual reading the internet can now be accused of terrorism because you are reading a webpage which is not approved by some government bureaucrat. Farfetched you say? Really? I know the President has said that he will not apply the law to American citizens, but I believe that statement about as far as I can throw the Empire State building. He did after all just throw the Constitution out the window with his “recess” appointments. So it’s only a matter of time before this law becomes abused and misapplied.

Just think in a few months Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and others may disappear from the American scene. They will be charged with voice terrorism and held without due process all in the name of protecting the American way of life. Then after all the damage is done it will be declared a “mistake”, an apology will be offered but the country will already be a dictatorship. Impossible? Think again.

Let me ask you something, do you fear a Republican/Conservative President ever using or abusing this power? Of course not, because Republican/Conservative Presidents are, by default, mostly honorable and trustworthy, despite the efforts of the Benedict Arnold’s (formerly known as the main stream media) to paint them otherwise. I know there may be exceptions to this but they are very few and very far between. And when exceptions do arise the main stream media actually does their job with elaborate but often factual information. However now that liberals/Democrats control the country, and one who has now been authorized to imprison any citizen for any reason, do you hear anything from the media? Not a word. And you never will. The liberal/political elites who now control the nation are encouraged, or will be soon, by their base, and the media, to use this new power to destroy their political enemies. Fear mongering? May I remind you this concept has precedence since something similar, though not as drastic, was used in the 1990’s under the Clinton Administration. Did you ever hear anything about it then? Nope. Not then, not now.

We have now entered a new realm for this country, the realm of dictatorship and it is only a matter of weeks or months before the power of this authority is applied to the “political” enemies of the ruling elite. This concept scares the hell out of me so much that I actually pray that December 21st becomes a reality and not a concept. I would rather die at the hands of Mother Nature then be betrayed by the country of my birth.

I could be wrong about this but as a former member of the military I don't think that our armed forces would ever carry out such draconian orders since they would be arresting their parents, spouses, brothers, sisters, and other family members. Plus their sworn duty is to protect the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. Then add to the mix that you have all of us old vets who would work to ensure our military never enacts a Nazi Germany style regime. This means that despite all their efforts to turn this country into a "utopian" police state, the political elites have a real problem on their hands: Real Americans who believe in the rule of law, the Constitution, and freedom. However with Department of Homeland officers now harassing senior citizens at a Florida Social Security office one can never tell (DHS Social Security Checkpoint). Officials called it a training exercise, but was it really? The real crime is a lot of people actually support this government/political behavior. Do you?

As horrifying as this concept is, it is not too late to reverse the effects. We can still hold our elected “representatives” (a term I now use reluctantly) accountable for their actions, actions which will destroy the fabric of our freedom if not stopped. By voting out each and every Congress critter who supported this monster from political office we can prevent the country from becoming a bona fide police state, but to do so we must realize just how powerful we, as individuals, are.

As of this writing it is we the American people who still wield the power over politicians by controlling the vote. Yet these political elites are doing everything they can to destroy our power. They do this by ensuring that voter fraud has the freedom to run rampant in all elections. How? By stopping the individual state the power to thwart election fraud. By preventing voter IDs the Federal government is encouraging the act of stealing elections, all in the name of compassion and fairness of course. (So let me get this straight, I need a government issued ID to buy Liquid Plummer but not to vote? Right? Right. Don't believe me: Photo ID Needed for Drain Cleaner.)

This is a nation based on freedom and laws and when laws are passed that destroy freedom it is our responsibility to hold those who passed and approved such laws accountable. Still this country is slowly becoming a Marxist state and for 50% of this country that is just fine and dandy. But not for me. I believe in the power of the individual, not the state. I believe that honest people are the backbone of this nation, not the wimpy occupiers. I believe that I am responsible for my actions, not the Federal government. I am an American who believes in God, country, honor, and duty. And to me there is no higher calling.

But what about you? What do you believe in? Whatever it is your actions will dictate whether we live in freedom or tyranny. And that choice is totally up to you on voting day.
